About me

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist and have been registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa for the past 30 years. I follow a psycho-therapeutic approach to support and assist my clients.
I have a positive approach towards life even under the most difficult circumstances and follow the same principles in my psychotherapy. People are interesting due to their diverse and individual qualities. I am passionate about people and my work and I find psychotherapy a challenge to understand and motivate clients towards certain behavior. My approach is non-judgmental and empathic.
"It is with the heart that one sees rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye"
Antoine De Saint-Exupery

My experience

I have gained extensive experience at several organizations, clinics and in private practice (SAPS, HSRC, Addiction facilities). Persons who struggle with addiction are a keen interest of mine. Assisting spouses, children and other family members with codependency is very important to me as a psychotherapist.
I understand the difficulties and challenges of everyday life and the impact it has on individuals, relationships and day to day functioning.
“Daring as it is to investigate the unknown, even more so it is to question the known”

My approach

My approach in psychotherapy is Eco-Systemic. It draws from Psychoanalysis, Hypnotherapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
“Clients are successful to the degree that they capitalize on what they learn from helping session, using these learning’s to manage problem situations more effectively and develop opportunities more fully” I too believe that teaching techniques and skills on mindfulness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation, helps people learn more effective ways to help themselves."
Gerhard Egan
I work flexible hours during the week in order to accommodate people who have difficulties attending sessions during office hours. My fees are aligned with medical aid rates. I submit claims to all medical aid service providers should your medical aid plan provide for psychological services.
